We have joined forces with Sustainable Didcot to deliver the 'Wild Didcot' project. The aim of this project is to connect residents to nature and enhance areas for wildlife throughout the town.
In 2025, we entered a new partnership with Sustainable Didcot to increase their capacity to support nature's recovery in the town. Through this partnership, we aim to:
To start this project, our Nature Recovery Engagement Officer delivered family-friendly library sessions as part of this year’s Big Reading Challenge, the theme of which is ‘Story Garden’, and took part in the 'Big Day Out With Lunch' activity days at Didcot Railway Centre - we have continued to run events at these locations in the second year of the project. Wild Oxfordshire also assisted the Railway Centre with their vision to make the site more beneficial for nature whilst also improving visitor experience, by carrying out and ecological survey and producing a recommendations report.
In the first two years of the project, we have also worked to design and deliver a suite of nature engagement sessions, running events for both older people at Meadows Care Home and volunteers and members of the public at Didcot Green Hub.
