We are recruiting for a new Treasurer trustee

October 31, 2024
Wild Oxfordshire is seeking to appoint a trustee to act as its Treasurer. This is an exciting opportunity to work with the Chair, Chief Executive and other trustees in shaping the activities and direction of this small but influential charity. The work of Wild Oxfordshire’s skilled team is supplemented by its trustees so your time will have a real impact.

Wild Oxfordshire is seeking a new trustee and treasurer to join our Board of Trustees. As small charity Wild Oxfordshire requires that its trustee treasurer takes on a hands-on role in managing the finances of the charity using the Xero finance system, supported by the Chief Executive, administrator and bookkeeper.

We welcome interest from individuals from a wide range of backgrounds and interests but would be particularly pleased to receive applications from anyone with formal financial skills and experience in an organisational environment.

Wild Oxfordshire seeks the creation of a more natural, resilient, and biodiverse Oxfordshire for the benefit of all. We catalyse change by identifying needs, convening partnerships and unlocking opportunities for nature recovery action. We collaborate with numerous individuals, communities and organisations; offering expertly curated and inspiring information, bespoke advice, and nature-based solutions.

The trustee board meets four times a year, with a mixture of face-to-face meetings at Little Wittenham (South Oxfordshire) and on-line. There is an annual meeting with the members and additional events such as site visits and training opportunities throughout the year.

The role description is available here.

If you would like to have an informal conversation about Wild Oxfordshire and the role of treasurer please do contact David Knight, the Chair of Wild Oxfordshire to arrange a discussion at chair@wildoxfordshire.org.uk.

To apply, please contact Wild Oxfordshire’s Chair David Knight at chair@wildoxfordshire.org.uk by 20th December with a brief explanation of your interest in the role together with a resume of your experience. Should there be any questions at this initial stage these should also be directed to David in the first instance. Thereafter there will be an opportunity for suitable applicants to meet (likely virtually) with Wild Oxfordshire’s Director and several trustees in order to discuss the role further.
