Morning talks

Afternoon surveying taster sessions

In the afternoon participants will go onto Wigwell Reserve for hands-on experience taking water samples and learn about basic biodiversity surveying. Participants should download the ArcGIS Survey123 App on their smartphone in advance of the workshops as it will be required for the Water Quality testing aspect of the afternoon. The event is both indoors at the scout hut and on site by the river. Access along the river involves slopes, mud, and a fence to climb over. Please dress appropriately for the weather conditions; wellies or other waterproof boots are essential.

Please note there will be an event open to the general public running alongside the Citizen Science session in which family groups will be attending. The local Scouts and Guides will have tea and cakes for sale, but please bring a packed lunch and water as well.

We encourage participants joining us for the day to walk, take public transport, or car share to the event. Street parking spaces are very limited in Charlbury; we would advise drivers to park at the train station and up walk to the event. Please do plan ahead as presentation and workshop timings will be quite tight on the day.

Hosted by Charlbury Town Council the Everyone’s Evenlode team at Cotswolds National Landscape, as part of the Evenlode Catchment Partnership.
